David Heaton’s leadership of a very different Buncher Co. is beginning to become more apparent as he moves beyond his first year at the firm. That became more clear when he brought on his residential neighbor, Gregg Broujos, this past year to serve as a new SVP of leasing and as he sought to update the company’s approach, putting up properties for sale in a way the traditional firm hadn’t done before and buying others outside the typical Buncher profile. That included buying retail property in Monroeville and putting a key industrial property in Findlay Township up for sale. However, The Buncher Co. continues to play a major role in development in the Strip District and areas near Robotics Row: Look for the company’s continued evolution to show itself with how it moves forward on the potential of the open land it owns on the North Side across the Allegheny River from its nearly completed Riverfront Landing mixed-use plan.
